In collaboration with Shared Spaces Foundation, designers from Mahlum Architects and engineers from Coughlin Porter Lundeen have been diligently working with Heron’s Nest and the larger Duwamish Valley community to host three design charrettes, leading to a future Sawhorse build. The future kitchen, designed from community input and ideas through charette, will be located close to the greenhouse and garden on Heron’s Nest grounds, and used for events, education, and community gathering. The timeline for continuation of this project is heavily dependent on permitting and funding outlooks for 2023.
