Environmental Justice Program
Through games, dialogue, and art, student dived into systems of power and how they relate to environmental justice in this two- weekend program. Mentors and spatial justice advocates Kaleb Germinaro and Derrick McDonald engaged students with photo documentation, collage work, and local observation walks in Rainier Beach. Students also spent time planning an event in which they’ll to report back to the community what they learned.
EJ is the first of what we hope to be many “participatory action research” projects that elevate youth voice and deepen our local justice work.
