After a couple of years of summer camps, we decided to bring Sawhorse programs into the city. We had discovered that high school students in Seattle were interested in learning carpentry skills, and that there was a huge lack of solid sources for students to get those skills. We partnered with Green Plate Special for our first in-city program. GPS is a community garden dedicated to educating diverse middle school students about horticulture and cooking.

Sawhorse students built an outdoor cooking & dining area for GPS, with a distinct broken roof line and a raised platform underneath. The cooking area was used by regular classes until GPS relocated early in 2016.
